My family owns a Meade ETX 60.  It may not be the most high-powered telescope nor the telescope of choice forMorehead Planetarium and Science Center the major star-watching enthusiasts but it suits us just fine for NOW.  You see, growing up all I ever dreamed of was being was an astronaut.  To this day, should I ever have the money, I will be on a space flight.  Trust me, the call goes out for  REALTOR® on the moon or Mars and my hand will be the first to go up!  I am fascinated with the skys and love nothing more on warm evenings (or cold) to grab that telescope and head out to some dark remote location in the county to gaze at the wonder.

For those of you that are also interested in star gazing I wanted to bring to your attention a remarkable resource available in our own back yard.  The Morehead Planetarium and Science Center.  Not only do they have incredible shows, exhibits and hands on activities they also coordinate local skywatching sessions that are open to the public and FREE!  I have had the opportunity to join in on a few and it is great to meet and throw around ideas with the other "watchers".  The next session is Friday, February 29th from 7pm - 9pm at the Little River Regional Park.  If you are so inclined - join up!  You will be pleasantly surprised.
